A Trip To Remember (continued)

The rundown looks like 30 miles to Anderson, 14 more to Reese, 33 to Richmond, then 39 into Ohio to CCSC. Scratching back about 22 miles to Hamilton County, I figure a total of 138 Nautical miles, or 192 km. The trip took 5 hours flat, so with 159 statute miles covered, that comes to about 32 miles per hour. My personal best flight ever. This wonderful event in my life would not have been even remotely possible if not for you, my fellow glider people. Thank You very much for your support. A special thanks to my crew (Tom Ruble & Dominic Martin) who drove all the way into Ohio to retrieve us. I did treat them to all the steak you can eat at Ryans Steak House.

An Invitation

Would like to cordially invite you to come fly with us in beautiful Moriarty, New Mexico!

I am extending this offer to all of my friends back in Indiana who are currently sitting in the midst of winter, shivering and looking forward to 4,000 ft. AGL cloud bases. As of the date of writing this it is February 28th and I just logged my 14th hour in the air already this year. The wave season has been fantastic this winter, and the thermal season, which starts in two weeks, promises to be even better with cloud bases regularly reaching 18,000 MSL and above! (Can't quote how much above, wouldn't know something like that, would I, Mr. Rielage?) Given my limited mathematical skills, 18,000 MSL works out to be flying 11,800 feet above the ground!

I am single with a four bedroom house 15 min away from the airport, and would like nothing better than to let some friends from Indiana come out and see what soaring is SUPPOSED to be like. The room will be free to stay, and the flying will be cheap. There is a tow pilot manning a tow plane seven days a week for your convenience. Glider rentals are very reasonable as well. Between the club and commercial operation, we offer two Grob 103's, two 2-33's, one 1-26, a Grob 102 single place airplane, a Twin Astir, and a Libelle for your flying pleasure.

Am I promoting here? YOU BET! This is a world-class soaring sight, which has yet to be fully discovered. I am doing some mid-grade advertising work for both operations in order to kick up glider traffic around here, because with 74 sailplanes based here, we feel this just isn't enough, we would like to have more guests as well. If you own a ship, drag it over. If you do not own a ship, we have more than enough ships to keep you occupied. For further information, please contact me at mhudson126@aol.com or (505) 286-8053.
