2004 CISS CONTEST

The CISS CLUB CONTEST has a second day to report after a lengthy gap due to lackluster weather and/or lackluster pilots.

On Friday, August 6 four pilots submitted flights that varied from good to unlucky.

Darren landed at his second favorite airport, Portland, that is fast becoming a magnet for him. It was supposed to be a turnpoint on the way to a 300 km diamond goal flight. Better choose a different turnpoint next time, Darren !

And Ron had what he professed to be the lowest save he has ever accomplished. He climbed away from 400 feet above a field that nearly claimed him.

Scott Ortman suffered from digital bugs that ate his tracklog, but knowing what an honest guy he is, we accepted his claim anyway. (Warning: If you move much farther up the scoresheet however, we might not still feel so sorry for you.)

Taylor had a normal flight that was almost dull by comparison.

Kurt Ristow had a nice flight as well, but his track is still firmly stored in his GPS and will probably stay there until he buys or borrows a cable to download and send it in. Perhaps we’ll be able to include it at a later date.

Stay tuned for what we hope will be many more contest flights in the following weeks.
Let’s get that ASW-24 in the fray, Terry!
