The Seniors National Championships (continued)
If you weren't flying, you were eating it seemed like. Knut and Ingrid arranged 3 outstanding feeds at the gliderport and the banquet was the last night. Lunches were available before takeoff. There is a mandatory crew rest day and Miriam and I took advantage of it to canoe down the Weeki Wachee River, a clear springwater stream where we saw lots of wildlife including a manatee. Many people went to Disney World or other attractions around Orlando. I can't imagine a more pilot friendly contest than the Seniors.

Ron had a great contest, finishing in 8th place. Yours truly locked in on 33rd place. Pete Tramm was there, although he had to miss a couple of days due to stomach problems. He said to say "Hello" to his friends back here at CISS.

Please Don't Ding The Glider!
Finally the Blanik is near to flying condition again , and will be sporting a new paint job. Thanks in advance for keeping it looking pristine . Thanks also to the very many club members who helped with this project over the past 5 months . Now the ship is ready to be reassembled . After that we will need to have a new W&B done and put it through an annual inspection. All being well the ship should be ready to take to the air again in a couple of weeks . Plans are to do the re-assembly next Saturday -April 5 (weather permitting), Sunday is the back up date. So come on out if you would like to help . No reasonable offers of help will be refused .

The new and improved 809S.
Wet paint? Nope - just awfully shiny! Let's keep it that way.
