TRAILER
MADE
by
Bill Carr
Last year,
we purchased a ground equipment trailer to lessen the crew workloads.
It did help, in that the equipment could be hauled in one vehicle,
but there was no organization. It was hard to tell what was where.
All along I
had in mind some type of shelf or bin system even before we purchased
the trailer. As luck would have it I have a friend, who recently
was forcibly retired, who is a master woodworker.
Walter Tarr,
with very little help from me, designed and built a bin system for
the trailer this winter. It has been installed, and is ready for
use. We have labeled the bins as to what goes were and would like
to keep things organized. We should be able to tell at a glance
if everything we need is available for operations.
The items will
reside in the trailer rather than on the shelves of the clubhouse.
The exceptions are the batteries and the base radio. These should
be placed in the trailer prior to going downfield and removed for
charging at the end of the day.
I have also
placed the sign up sheets on the top shelf in the rear of the trailer.
If it is kept there, everyone will know where it is until the table
is set up.
Oh yes, there
is a new composite table on the right wall of the trailer. I think
it will me much better than the prior arrangement. It is easy to
get 15-20 of the stackable resin chairs in the forward area of the
trailer, and I would suggest we use this type to limit the clutter.
Walt received
no compensation for all of his work, so I would like to suggest
that we probably owe him a few glider rides. Let's take pride in
Walt's great work and keep things neat and tidy.
Enjoy.
