A Discus named PV and an LS4 named IZ land within minutes of each other.
They come from a 5 1/2 hour flight around a pre-declared 300km triangle.

The winch rope broke a few times during the winch launch weekend. This is one of them as seen by the camera mounted on the plane looking back. Plane landed without problems.

May 15,16,17 was the weekend to try winch launching in Alexandria.
Generally a low altitude is achieved, but a few of the pilots actually caught a thermal and got away.

| 12 year old Marlin Tessarzyk shows excellent tow technique. |
This is Marlin Tessarzyk being towed by Olaf on April 20th. The ceilings were low and the atmosphere too stable and hazy, but Marlin wanted to have a couple of take offs and landings.
He's an excellent student, and he had too much time on his hands.

July 4th, 2005, Joni Mitchel came to Alexandria to have a flight in a sailplane. Ron Clarke flew the Grob 103 with Joni as passenger in the back seat. She liked the experience. Don Taylor talks to Ron about the thermal strength.
